Mountain Magic

This weekend, Joshua and I both had 4 days off.  We took the opportunity to visit our friends, the Lovetts, who moved to the NC mountains back in April.  They live in an absolutely breathtaking spot and it was wonderful to see them again and to have them share their piece of heaven with us.  I've always been a beach girl, but the mountains have a special place in my heart as well.  The mountain air was a wonderful treat for us and the weather was perfect, especially coming from the hot hot coast.  It was a great time of talking and sharing and exploring.  The only problem was that it was just too short a visit.

Joshua & SeAnna had a blast posing for pictures on this rock

Linville Falls
SeAnna actually got this beauty to land in her hand, but of course I didn't manage to take a picture of it.
My artsy photos of SeAnna with the kudzu flowers.  I've seen lots of kudzu over the years, but never the flowers.  They smell like grapes and look beautiful, even if kudzu is bad for everything else.  She has such beautiful blue eyes, doesn't she?

Thought it might help to prove I was actually there.  I'm rarely in the pictures, since I'm always taking them.

Thank you Sherry, SeAnna, & David for hosting us and sharing your new home with us.  We had a blast & can't wait to see you again soon!

  1. What a beautiful hike! I wish I was there dipping my toes with you. Thanks so much for linking up with Simple Lives Thursday.

  2. I'm so jealous! Our camping plans for the long Labor Day weeekend were curtailed by 40 mph winds, cold temperatures and sporadic rain showers for four days. :( The rock formations are absolutely gorgeous and it looks like you had a blast.
